We have both grown before but that was long, long ago in a land far far away. LOL. By new grower, We (wife & I) are just getting back into it. This is our second planting.

I built this light board to get all the lines, wires and other stuff out of the way.
I can move it up and down easily from the front.
When this grow is finished, I will finish the board. The lights are not mounted, they are just sitting there. The bulb hanging down is a UV lizard bulb. Those holes are actually for a pair of Cree LED floods from my old motorcycle. I am waiting on the 12v power supply to connect them. Then the UV will go away until I mount the sockets at opposite ends and sides. The other two corners will have a small fan blowing the air in a circle internally until the exhaust fan removes it.

You can see two of our 3 keiki here.

Above the board all the ‘stuffs’.

I have discovered in this forum that my lights are not as powerful as they let on. Not a huge surprise. It seems as though 600w per 2x4 is the acceptable amount of light. So I am running both lights on bloom and veg at the same time. I should be getting enough light to them that way and I have the lights lowered to about 20 inches. They perked up already, so I notice a difference after a single day.

And that was BEFORE I turned the reds back on.

Welcome… You can’t really measure leds by height… They can be very misjudging. Make sure you have a good par meter handy to always get the precise amount of light…having all of your environment components dialed in is very important for final results.

Something else I get to buy if my check ever arrives. LOL Whats a good quality one that won’t cost me a thousand $?

I would suggest adding a couple full spectrum cob leds 100w a piece. They’d do ya good homie! Check out some lights at rapidled.com

I was thinking about a Spider Farmer. Ever use them?

Just looked at Rapid LED. Looks pretty good so far.

I’m not familiar with spider Farmer. But there are many good lights out there… If you’re trying to replace your lights I suggest something with better light distribution kinda like the spider. But if you’re trying to add additional light I suggest the cobs. Easy to fit them in between lights and certain areas where you’re not getting enough lighting!

This helps an amazing amount. LOL Now that I know my lights are way under-powered, I lowered them down to 16 inches yesterday about 3 hours into the 18. Today, New growth!

I also increased the airflow even though I don’t think it was an issue. Better safe than sorry.

i bought a spider farm last year to add to my collection. its not bad. i think the 2000 might be better for 2 plants than what i did

What do you all think of a Spider 2000 with my blurples on either side of it? It might give me more than enough light for 2 or 3 plants in my 2x4 tent?

just remember when you jump down the rabbit hole you will probably go with higher end lights at some point and these will become your veg lights. you will say why didnt i get better lights first!

I had some new growth a day or two ago but since then, nada. I know I have things to correct, it’s just taking time to get it all fit together. It is so frustrating, especially since these ought to be a foot tall by now.
