Well I’d have had a water cloner if they hadn’t sent me 7/8” net pots lol
I’m excited to finally get my new addition, Jelly Rancher, started. Usps sucks right now!! My package disappeared for 10 days.
But at last I’m going to germinate and grow 2 Jelly Rancher plants and 2 Magic Melons. My MM clones didn’t do so well, so I’m going to grow out a couple more plants and run the JR, MM and RH strains thru the summer.
I’m going to do a potency test on the Jelly Rancher. I’ll do it along with a detailed cannabanoid and terpene profile on the Doug’s Varin strain I’m going to use to breed some high THCv strains over the next couple years.
I’m going to start that journal in a couple weeks…
Day 27 Flower
I had to change up my nutes last week and pull a couple things and up a couple other. Both strains really started feeding hard on phosphorus and potassium. My ratio has worked fine the past couple years, but I saw the signs, and it happened fast! I should have acted a day sooner. But this is what I did.
I upped my base Connoisseur Bloom to 3.5ml/L, Sensi Cal-mag 1ml/L, Voodoo Juice 1ml/L, Bud Candy 1ml /L, Big Bud upped to 1.5ml/L, Sensizym 2ml/L, Rhino Skin 1ml/L.
The B52, and Nirvana is now only being added with topoff at .5ml/L. It drops my ph too much when I run them at 1ml/L with my initial reservoir change. I think they screw with the buffers and aren’t compatible. At least in dwc, from my 2 years experiene with this lineup. I haven’t had to add ph up to get my ph drifting where I like it, since changing things up.
Hi-Biscus
Magic Melon
I added a couple 24watt T5s with 3000k bulbs to this tent last week.
I’ve tried to control their stretch with lots of HST.
This is my favorite terpene profile so far out of the 2 strains.
Royal Highness
These roots can’t wait to get in some O2 rich nutrient solution. You can almost watch the plants grow when they get going.
Only 2 clones that I would actually Veg. I’m only going to grow 1 Hi-Biscus clone and 2 Royal Highness next round. I’m giving the other Hi-Biscus clone to a friend. Wish I had more to spare.
I’m usually at this point by day 15…
You can see this Hi-Biscus clone starting to re-veg.
Looking good as always brother!!!
M&M’s doesn’t seem to be a very hearty strain. I started three regs had one male and threw one of the females outside in the ground in the middle of winter because she just wasn’t growing. The survivor is small but beautiful.
Day 43 Flower
On the home stretch and into the final weeks. Changed my lineup a little to compensate for my plants excessive phosphorus needs right now. I see the deficiencies of calcium and phosphorus in the Hi-Biscus and Magic Melon. Next run I’ll compensate sooner to avoid any issues.
Connoisseur Bloom 3.5ml/L, Sensi Cal-mag 1ml, Voodoo Juice 1ml/L, Bud Candy 1ml/L, Overdrive 2ml/L, Sensizym 2ml/L, Rhino Skin 1ml/L.
Im topping off full strength instead of half strength, and adding B52 @ .5ml/L, and Big Bud at 1.5ml/L.
Daytime Temps in my tents have been 76-79f, nighttime 65-68f, Rh almost always at 50-55% on my Inkbird controllers. H20 temps 66-68f, Ph 5.7-6.0, Ec 2.9.
!
Both strains smell just as described! I love the Magic Melon!! It smells like a ripe melon just after being cut open. It’s hard to say if it’s honeydew or cantaloupe? A mixture of both. Definitely my favorite!
The Hi-Biscus has a more woody cherry smell going on. It’s more pungent than the Magic Melon…
These plants will be in my new 8 bucket undercurrent rdwc system in a couple days. Along with 1 of my Hi-Biscus and Magic Melon clones. I’ll let my Reg Royal Highness plants Veg for a week then take clones and sex all my plants.
I went 7 for 8 on the clones. A few just took a little longer to come around…
A couple local fellow growers are excited!!
Awesome grow brother!!!
Sweet grow so far! Watching.
Thanks my friend! It’s all coming along. I’m almost done building my 4 tent hydro grow room. It’s been alot of work, and expensive as hell.
Thanks @PreyBird1!
It can be a money pit lol.
So much fun though
Looking fantastic…!!! You just got my hopes up that I can manage to get through my first hydro grow when I saw those AN bottles lol. I can see the trikes shining in lovely white on those beauties!!
Dang. Thems octopi plants.
I’m excited to finally chop these plants this week! Super fruity and stinky!!
Awesome! Lucky you!
Ty a couple of questions for you. (sigh) I am now using AN nutes same as you Connoisseur but I am not putting anything else in on the last water change.
I purchased purified water from the water station for this water change. I put in the nutes, and it took the PH down to 4.3. I just left it alone, didn’t muck with it. Plants started getting yellow, decided I better adjust the PH mixed 30cc of Bloom city PH UP in a quart of water. Then added it slowly got the PH up to 5.9 and within minutes it was right back down to under 5.5. I just can’t seem to win with this hydro stuff. First nutes I couldn’t get the PH to come down and now I can’t get it to stay up. Same nutes as you use, used purified water buffered it for a few days with 1ml per gal of Ph down and up. PH’ed it to 7.0 added the AN and it went down to 4.3. And stays there. No matter how much PH up I put in it goes right back down. It can’t be Cal/Mag I didn’t put any in. No fulvic acid this time, no seaweed. Just the base nutes.
SO…I took three different kinds of water, the purified, from my tap, and rain water. Put in the 4ml per liter nutes in each in one quart of each of these three waters, the rain and the purified I buffered. ALL THREE of them just refuse to budge off of 4.3 without massive amounts of PH UP and then won’t hold it. I fucking give up. I just can’t figure out how to get my PH stable. I had it for about 5 days and with explosive growth, and they everything went haywire again. I have put something like 80ml of PH UP into a 14 gal system, I know that has to be screwing everything up. But so will 4.3 PH. My roots are massive the entire buckets are filled up. Just don’t get the PH not staying stable. And PH perfect is FAR from it.
I have had PH problems with every single kind of water I have used. Even the one good 5 day run started getting whacky, so I just changed it out.
Any suggestions other than rip em all out and put in coco. I thought I finally was getting it down…not so. And can’t figure out what in the world it could be, I have tried all the suggestions with the use purified water and buffer it first for a few days.
Now I am getting this…
Have you tried not buffering and just use the AN?
AN runs a little hot would be my only guess in the tip burn. I burned my tips everytime with AN
I wondered about that too, but the plants are overall getting pale like not enough nutes, not nute excess. It is either that or the PH is locking the nutes out ? Sorry for the delay having bad sinus headaches from the spring pollen, they get vicious. Can’t look at a computer screen makes it worse.
And yes I did try putting the AN in just plain un-molested rain water it takes any water down to under 5.5. I also did this with Grow Micro Bloom same results. Takes it down to even worse 3.9
I would try just the AN.
You may be getting lock out.
I’ll be back on later
Ty didn’t mean to jack your thread, saw your gorgeous plants and the AN bottles and was hoping you could help.
Its all good @sssportsmfg! Anyone that says AN ph perfect doesn’t need to be adjusted doesn’t know their products very well. Your ph shouldn’t be dropping below 5.5, but if it is something is going on.
I’ve always been told by AN growers support that RO is the best h20 for dwc and their products.
RO should start at 7.0 without any adjustments.
Are you still using the same airpump?
They say you can’t have enough O2 in your rootzone, but I had ph issues when I was using the 950 gph vivosun pump.
I just use the smaller 4 line pumps now.
Increased cO2 in the rootzone can also cause you ph to drop.
Your ec was probably off the charts when you added all the ph up.
Been there, done that.
The 1st go in dwc is always the hardest and most frustrating!
