Indoor Set Up

Hi there!

I’m almost entirely new to growing – I’ve helped my dad out just a little bit with growing outdoors and from that (combined with botany courses and other gardening experiences) have gained some knowledge about cannabis growing, but this is a totally new world to me.

We just put up a tent (3.5’x3.5.‘x6.5’) with seven plants and have yet to reach a final set-up so any bits of knowledge or advice will be well received and welcome
(not pictured: we did re-hang up the lights by attaching the clips to cable ties, soon we’ll also have better ventilation going on with a fan blowing air out of the top.)

Currently there’s two fem Super OGs in the big 6gal buckets and the rest are Apples and Bananas in 2gal buckets from reg seeds, so we’re waiting on time to tell us what sex they’ll be.

I’m super excited to be learning how to grow and can’t wait to see how this growing season will be!!

Here’s a picture of the tent, an overly curious “helper,” and a top view of the plants:

me too. i can’t wait to see how you do.

and this’ll also be a good place to ask questions to everyone about how to grow indoors in a tent.

Can you see if anything’s missing?

I see catnip missing is about all. Them damn helpers huh, does he eat the leaves …like only munch a nibble off BUT on every feiggen leaf? Won’t hurt him, they all do it practically.
Growing The Reefers w dad… How about that! Was dad a vet? Or a hippie? LoL it’s pretty cool to see ya excited about it. Been there!! All of us have. Except Happy. He never gets excited about anything! LoL
I do it all the time but toss them males out as soon as you see the dingle berrys ASAP w the fems in… no worries. Your smart for finding.a forum right away. You’ll have 1000% better chance of nailing a homer w the 1st official grow. Welcome to the rest of your life as a pot farmer because it’s your new time consuming obsession. If youve come this far the force is strong with you. Congratulations, zippitty doo duh… Here we go!! Imma pull up the bean bag and bong! Welcome to the forum and all that jazz Mr. Quarter Roy!

Really great question that made me realize a possible issue with the lights (the one on the right has half the grid not working :grimacing:, but for keeping them alive inside I think it’ll be fine for now).

There’s two (or one and a half lol :person_facepalming:) SONLIPO SPB1200 LED grow lights about 24 inches (range: 22-28 in) above the canopy. They’re both on veg at 80% right now.

You can Get away with it for a little bit now but when it comes to flowering get your lights in order. Thats where your bread and butter is. And it makes all the world in difference. I never argue w peeps about lights. A 60 w bulb will still grow a plant, no qualms from me about that but a 600w QB board will grow an oak tree.

I TOTALLY lied in this post :joy: Two of the smaller gal buckets had Judah’s Cookies (the pretty chimera plant and one other), two Super Ogs, and then Apples and Bananas. The Judah’s Cookies started showing signs of being male (bummer) so they’re getting kicked out, BUT the rest were showing signs of being female!! Super exciting!!

…Huh

Yes, I do…

Back to weed. I would suggest lowering your fan, so your plants are moving a little bit from the air. When they get a little bigger you’re gonna wanna fan blowing under them also. This will help avoid any mold problems and also strengthen branches. You do not have very many square feet. so I wouldn’t let them get too big before you switch them to flower. They will probably about double in size when you flower them. The only thing I see jumping out at me that could be problematic is the number of plants. I think you’re gonna do just fine…:+1:t3::+1:t3::v:t3:

Update on the indoor set-up: I got rid of the males so now there’s (left to right) 2 Super OGs, 3 Apples and Bananas, and 2 flowering Pluto’s Brides.

There’s two blue SONLIPO SPB1200 LED Grow Lights and a grey Viparspectra Reflector Series 300W. The plants are in a 18/6 photoperiod set by a timer that the lights are plugged into. Super OG and Apples and Bananas are photoperiodic and in vegetative state. The light above Super OG is 10-12 inches above the canopies. The dial is turned 80%, the switches are flipped to “sunshine on” and veg (same light settings for both.) The light above Apples and Bananas is between 10-15.5 inches above the canopies, BUT could matter less right now because they’re getting topped. The third light on the right has two modes: on and off, take a guess what setting I’m keeping it on. Pluto’s Bride is an auto-flower so right now we’re just keeping it alive and flowering.

Hahaha luckily she doesn’t eat the leaves… or at least hasn’t been caught eating them YET. My biggest issue with her is that she’s SUPER GOOD AT WEEDING, but instead of pulling unwanted plants out of the ground she likes to take plant labels out. I tell myself she THINKS she’s helping

My dad’s a vet and is also in a lot of growing groups so as SOON as we got these plants he elbowed me to sign up here. The goal isn’t to help him grow weed but for me to learn how to do it.

I’m SUPER excited about the tent and the plants in it, SUPER excited to see all the changes in the plants throughout this season.

Lmaoooo
Moving the fans down is smart. I just topped the plants, I was going to lower the lights because of the new height difference but I’ll try lowering them overall anyways

MK used to lick the leaves and sometimes just bite holes in a few leaves from time to time.

cool setups. I am wondering if it is effective to grow regular flowers for sale in such a way. I am intrigued by the success of acquaintances on https://myglobalflowers.com/

Damn Skippy… Don’t fall far from the tree!
Yes I figured the dad thing out earlier…well Monk did. You gonna major in Botany are ya, lil plant biology courses maybe, add some business management courses and your futures could be bright. But it’s the doing something you thoroughly enjoy is the key to a career. I enjoy the hell out of fixing shit but I don’t think the “for other people” was in my work plans. LoL
Cat got caught red handed, that’s pretty funny she’s a thief. Good stuff…
