A later start that I would have liked, but today’s my birthday!
So why not start my annual grow.
May 24th, 2023
Germination
3 seeds total - all of which are still ‘hand-me-downs’ from other growers:
413 Diesel (this is a local strain from INSA that I got a seed a friend found in an order of flowers)
Wedding Cake
White Wedding
Scuffed in 400 grit sandpaper
Soaked in water for 8 hours
Transferred to Paper towels in tupperware
Stored in un-lit tent
On heated seed mat, temp controlled to 75 degrees F
This morning, three seeds had nice 1.5" tails and so I transferred them into the Jiffy pucks.
3 seeds is a small number, but honestly even if I only get one strong plant, I’ll be happy because I will just invest much more time into pruning and training and getting that thing to take over my big tent.
Awesome. Happy birthday . Only takes one plant to get a lb or more. My first photo plant was scrogged in 4x4 scrog got 20 oz and all the larfy stuff that wasn’t trimmable for bubble hash. Best of luck to ya.
Well, so far I’m seeing consistent growth from the Wedding Cake and White Wedding,
but that 413 Diesel is looking pretty stunted. Not sure its long for this world, but we’ll see - maybe it just needs a little more time is all.
While growth continues, and by looking at my first grow, I am WAY ahead in terms of growth.
In fact, the 413 D that I thought was not doing well, is actually doing fine by the timing of my first grow. However, looks a bit fucked up.
BUT, today I noticed the start of some deficiencies that I need to address.
Starting to see some browning edges…
Just noticed these issues this morning before heading to work.
So, any insights or tips are appreciated.
I do have “the chart” to reference, and it looks like some phosphorous and zinc deficiencies.
Something donned on me, in between feedings things had been looking too dry.
I think what I’m seeing in the leaves is just good ole not feeding enough. I was being extra cautious because previously I was guilty of nearly drowning the seedlings. So I think I just need to find a better balance.
Last night’s feeding was more than I had been doing, and things looked pretty perky this morning.
So, I think I’ve found the balance.
Goal this weekend is to pot up to the 1 gallon bags - and possibly re-organize my entire grow space as well. Its been working fine as is, but things can be a little cleaner, and better managed as well.
First full feeding till some dripping out the bottom.
That 413 Diesel sure has a weak stem…hoping to see some girth up.
But the other two are doing very nice. Lets pray for some females eh.
The small one in the front looks like it’s getting ready to really start growing. It’s got that look about it like it’s been saving up energy. Getting ready just to explode. … yep it’s got that look about it. Time will tell…
