Things are growing very well.
The Runtz seem to have hit a growth spurt.
The Runtz x W.C. are actually growing out nice, just slower. While the weird leaves are still there (I think thats the result of how I had messed up the tail on the seed at first) the new growth all looks good.
Lots of growth happening.
Fed this morning and planning to top the Runtz this afternoon.
Unfortunately, I’m starting to see a little leaf edge curling.
I have moved the lights up a bit to hopefully mitigate this.
I will also take steps back in watering as I may be overfeeding.
Next week I’ll be on vacation for a week, so I’ll mix a half diluted batch of nutes for my caretaker to ease things off for a bit.
After some training and haircutting things are looking uniform, but overall veg growth feels kinda slow overall, compared to past grows, and definitely compared to a lot of grows I’ve seen online. Didn’t think it should take this long to get this point.
I was kind of hoping to get in a 2nd topping, but I feel like if I do that now its just gonna delay things a lot more. I think I’m giving another week of Veg and then flipping.
This is why although I do top sometimes as much as three times, I don’t defoliate them. I let them get bushy as they want to be until I go to flower, then I only defoliate to the point that the lower buds get uncovered from the shade leaves. Hap did teach me that taking off the bottom sucker limbs is beneficial and I do, do that now.
I also decided, that I am NOT flipping the Runtz x W.C.
I want to get a perpetual grow going, so rather than send 4 plants to flower and torture myself with a stupid amount of trimming in the end - I’m going to leave my 2x2 tent to be a vegging tent.
So I topped and trimmed the Runtz x W.C. quiet heavily, and also took 6 clones (3 from Runtz, 3 from Runtz x W.C.) (they’re uncovered here, but have them under domes)
And! I redid my entire cloning setup.
I found a bin with an old cheap blurple light that fills up the clone tent. I know it’s not ideal as those lights are long out of fashion but it’s something and I already had it. So I’m going with it.
Stretch seems to be slowing.
Flowers forming.
Kinda leggy but branches are thickening a little.
Did some trimming and will continue to lollipop through the week. Will install the scrog and supercrop a little at the end of the week.
The other tent with the the Runtz x W.C. is looking gorgeous continuing to veg.
But I’ve decided to gift one of them to a friend whose seedlings died early on this season.
I’ve never transplanted from coco to outdoor soil before, but so far cloning has been going well so if it’s a total loss, it’s not that big of a deal. Hopefully my buddy has good luck though!
Going from inside to out is more than the Coco to soil. The coco to soil isn’t near as big deal as the direct sunlight. Direct morning son and direct evening son is OK but leaving the shade for the majority of the day if possible. If you take a plant straight from grow lights to outside sunlight, it will fry it majority of the time. it will need time to acclimate. No need to ask how I know this.
