Introduce yourself!

Hi Nick,

It has been a while since I have been on the group as you can see. It has been an interesting few months, and our business is steady, but in the area we are in we have many patients now medicating from stress more than anything…

Anyway! We have been busying ourselves with a new Clothing line that we is gaining some interest and I wanted to share this with you, in hopes that you can feel comfortable sharing it with others in the network, and your circle of influence. Just pass on the link, it would be a great help. We are not advertising Social networks, we want the product to grown naturally from interested people, just like we do with our Cannabis Cultivation. We thought why not start a line of accessories aimed at the people that work in the Cannabis Industry. Everyone from trimmers to CFO’s will enjoy these cool items. The watercolor designs are very beautiful and the products are very high quality. Here is the link. https://www.dresspakalolo.com/

The watercolor paintings are original and the messages are universal. If you could pass it along we would be greatly indebted.

Peaceking

Hey there folks! I’m excited to join this community. I’m just now entering the cannabis industry after about 15 years of working on the advocacy side of things. In Massachusetts I formed a patient/public health group in 2006 that brought a ballot initiative to the voters to legalize medical use in 2012; I later also worked on passage and implementation of the 2016 adult use law.

A few weeks ago I left the policy world to join with New England Craft Cultivators, (https://www.necraftcultivators.com/) to lead on starting a cultivation site in Massachusetts. NE Craft Cultivators has two dispensaries opening this summer. Now I’m putting together a team and seeking a site for cultivation.

I’m eager to learn from all of you and to connect with folks with growing expertise in Massachusetts and I’m excited to be part of this community.

Hey all!
Just looking to soak up some info. I grew a couple autos last summer. Now I am working with a tent on my first “real” grow. Very new to this with not a lot to offer in the way of info. I hope to change that though😁

jammer, welcome to GN !

LOT’s of competent advice here with some great and gracious growers…
settle in and look around.
Well actually if you haven’t bought all your tent equipment there are lots of people here that can steer you in the right directions…if you’re all set and ready to grow, be sure and start a grow log here so that if you do need any help, you’ll get quick and accurate responses!

Hi everyone! My name is Dave Donohoe. I am a controlled environment airflow engineer that specializes in air circulation and airflow at the plant level. I work for Breeza Industrial’s agriculture division, Ag Fan Systems. I have been involved with agricultural airflow for about 20 years and have focused on circulation for the past 8 years. My company manufactures fans that I recommend but I love to chat about airflow in general and am well versed on most fans being used in agriculture. Problem solving, eliminating microclimates within grows, and helping people experience great airflow is fun for me. I am glad to help and really look forward to some great discussions!

Hi @Airflowguy

Welcome to GN and great to have you here. I am from rural South Africa and would love to hear what you say about a 30 x 10 metre poly tunnel that runs too hot, over 113 F during midday. We are looking at taking off the side layers of polyethylene and replacing them shadenetting for better windflow. Do you have any further suggestions for improving the temperature levels without spending too much money. Overhead misters were suggested. We do also have an industrial fan that could be used? Thanks for your input in advance.

Hi Chris,

A few fans would definitely help your temps if they were arranged properly. Here is a typical layout I used on a similarly shaped house that had similar heating problems. This house had air intake low in the middle and exhaust on the ends. I’m glad to design around you specifics with whatever fans you can source locally. Feel free to send an email - dave@breeza.com.

I’m a cannabis activist/cultivator doing my part to break the stigma that cannabis , it’s users and cultivators have been unjustly afflicted by, by maintaining a holistic approach to cultivation using only OMRI products , replenishing carbon through the use of biochar and such to pay it forward to our home… earth  and standing adamant in my stance that cultivating cannabis for medicinal private use does not make you a criminal. In fact I believe that the only reason it’s currently synonymous with the black market and crime is because it was so effectively demonized which forced the price high and made a viable cash crop for those who were so motivated to take advantage of. If every American home had weed plants in their gardens like we do tomatoes or peppers , they would be just that , a plant we grew to enrich our experiences and lives and no one would give two shits about it, and I’m doing it from center of one of the most notoriously closed minded and stubborn states there is ,Texas. But don’t get me twisted I love my home(Texas), and believe that the United States of America is the greatest place on the planet because it has us, Americans, and together there’s nothing we can’t do!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Justin. I earned my Ph.D. in Horticulture a few years back and have served as a Traditional Vegetable Breeder for most of my career. My passion has always been geared towards developing improved varietals that possess a heightened degree of both genotypic as well as phenotypic traits that consumers will accept. I enjoy the process of maximizing heterosis (hybrid vigor) in an effort to develop transgressive segregates that are more productive than either parent alone. Lastly, I like to take into account the phenotypic equation (Phenotype = Genotype x Environment x Management) and identify the most optimum GxE interaction to achieve the best output.

To be honest with you all, I am new to the Cannabis world, but I have bred spinach before, which is also a wind-pollinated crop so that may be an advantage that I can exploit. I have some unique experiences with different cultural practices and products that may likely assist those of you that are experiencing issues with unwanted pests within your indoor grow zones. In all honesty, I am simply eager to learn and assist where I can with providing some different perspectives from my time in the vegetable industry. Thanks for allowing me to join you all!
