Hey all! My name’s James, I’ve been growing for a medical dispensary in Colorado for almost 5 years now. Lots of experience with rockwool, house and garden nutrients, predatory insects and other ipm techniques. I work so much that I haven’t been networking as much as I should and I hope this site can help me with that! Interested in whole plant extracts, new genetics, defoliation experiments, etc.

Edit: had to throw in a couple of my favorite pics from over the years. If you wanna see more pics, check out my ig: @hot_saucerman!

Hey! I’m Sam or “Sonny” as my family calls me and I’m the VP of Cultivation representing Alt. Ag. “2A”, a small commercial cultivation startup in Oklahoma that’ll service dispensaries and processors within Oklahoma. I’m very happy to have been accepted into this online community and I look forward to learning a lot. Alt. Ag. owns the facility, budget, and a complete business plan as well as all of our documentation in order to receive our license once the time comes near the end of August.

Our focus is to cultivate as high quality of a product as possible indoor while limiting or carbon footprint in the process. We’ll accomplish this by using SpyderX Plus lighting, organic nutrients/pest control applications and a reclaim process throughout all phases of growth. We’ll be using FF soils and nutes in 1 - 7 gallon fiber pots for our initial grow while performing r&d on other more efficient systems and methods that will accommodate our projected growth and budget requirements.

I personally have about 10 years experience growing with hid lighting in soil and hydroponic mediums, but nothing on this scale. However, my team and I have been in contact with Fluence Bioengineering and various supply companies to ensure we’re on the right path for our goals. I’m interested in meeting with fellow commercial cultivators and learning the tried and true methods of a master grower!

That looks great! What are the dimensions of that space if you don’t mind my asking and how many plants have you got going on there?

The rooms are roughly 20x30’ and all have 60 plants in them. Each picture is a different style of room, we started with the hps fixtures with 20 lights per room but the new rooms have double ended nanolux fixtures and only 14 lights per room but they do have an additional foot of vertical. The double ended rooms always crush the hps. Our record harvest for a double ended room is 42.8 lbs of dry nug with like 7-8 lbs of trim. The best hps yield has yet to break 40 but we’re getting close! I think this last round was the best out of there with 36-37 dry lbs.

Your dimensions for those rooms match our flowering space exactly. I could tell from your pics that’s why I asked. We’re going with Spydrx Plus though, but I’d love to touch base with you in the future to compare our methodologies and harvest results. Looks great in there and good luck on breaking that record! I don’t see you having any trouble there.

Nice! I’ve got a buddy who’s all about those fluence lights, I had one of the grow store guys light up one of their spydr x fixtures a while back and that thing was SO BRIGHT! The color of the light looks very pleasurable to work under as well. I wanted to get a room of those going but my boss is oldschool and once he saw the numbers on the double ended room, he was sold.

Those are some pretty good numbers. Do you stay consistent with the light spectrum (looks like about 3000°K in your pic) or do you ever intersperse your lights with some 6000°K - 10000°K bulbs?

We just run hortilux’s double ended or single ended. The hps room picture for sure was taken through some method seven glasses and they take a lot of the red out.

I’ve ran mixed spectrum in the past and was always pleased with the results. I think the plants express more with more light variety.

Hola Growers Network Fam,
I want to introduce myself, my name is Ryan Coast @coastnow
I’m currently a Brand manager and Cultivation Specialist for RediRoot.

I have been working in the industry since 2005 starting my education in the industry with the Sea of Green Hydrogarden chain out of Arizona. Shortly after starting I was given control of the daily operation of the three store chain. I left for the Air Force after that which luckily put me in California as I finished my service. I jumped back into the industry knowing my passion is plants. I co-founded a wholesale distribution company importing products from Holland and providing them directly to the Hydroponic retail market. In October of 2010 I was hired by General Hydroponics as a Product Specialist/Territory Manager for California, Nevada, and Arizona. I worked with GH a year into the Hawthorn acquisition at that time I chose to step out on my own again. I began working with start ups consulting and helping bring products to market. Some success’ some fails and a lot of education in between. A couple months back I was approached by Nursery Source to take the reins of the RediRoot Brand and have been enjoying every minute of working with their team of passionate professionals. Check out www.RediRoot.com for more information on our products. Or you can always contact me directly at Ryan@RediRoot.com.

I look forward to getting to know everyone involved here at GN and hopefully collaborating with you soon.

Best Regards,
RC

I love Hortilux ! I ran their bulbs for about 15 years.

I wholeheartedly agree with your last point! I like to integrate open hood bulbs running at least 6500 °K in an an array like the one you have pictured there to encourage some additional terpene/cannabinoid production. UVB will be higher at these Kelvin ranges. Glad to hear you’re running a mixed spectrum!

Great to have you here! Looking forward to your posts and contributions and pics!

From all of us here at the GNET Fam: Welcome, @CoastNow!

Many, many moons ago, I used to purchase supplies from that shop on 4th Ave. in Tucson. At which Sea of Green did you work?

On behalf of all us here, thank you for your service! We truly appreciate your sacrifice.

Wow! It sounds like you have run the gamut in the industry! I ran whole GH line for over a decade…it’s cool to have you here on the forum! We are fortunate to be graced with your expertise. Good luck with your continued success and keep us updated!
