I saved all of the clippings from the plant I harvested a day or so ago and have mulched them up to use as a top dress for the next few plants.

I’m going to use an auto-watering system for the first time. At what point/ how many weeks should I begin using it?

when you’re hand watering everyday, usually a few weeks into veg if your plants are banging!

I mixed up another couple of gallons of nutrients (Dakine420) for the Gary Payton. I “assumed” it had another 3 weks or so. Scoping it a few days ago showed it was not really ready and the bud clumps were small. I poured in a gallon of feed and thought I’d scope it real quick. I couldn’t believe my eyes; it looked like a sea of amber. I realized it needed to be chop chop asap.
I’ve never grown this strain and, even though it’s in the tent with the new light and the Banana Kush auto I just harvested (it was huge), I am surprised how small it is. Maybe it’s just me.
Anyway, it has a very strong odor and needed to be harvested. It was the one in the homemade earthbox, so maybe that’s a contributing factor in its small size. I’m not using an earthbox any more. I’ll stay with fabric pot bags.

Honestly, I’m just winging it using tips and suggestions from you guys. But thank you!
I think a big problem I do to myself is using a bunch of different soil medium combination recipes, adding too much stuff to, what should be, just a fairly simple soil mixture, which results in burned plants or just screwed up results.
If I had more knowledge of, or experience with hydroponics, I would give that method a try.

Your doing just fine. I did the same silly shit, always thinking I needed to do this or that, or add this or that. I am doing much better now, my therapist says I should be fixed about the time I die. lol.
