Im wanting to change my light cycle so i can work in the garden on my day off. right now plants are young and only getting 10 hrs of light and 14 off. on at 5pm off at 3am. How can i change that cycle from 2pm to midnight without messing up the process or hurting the plant?
Are the plants autos or photo periods?
They are photoperiods
If they’re getting more than 12h of darkness they’re going to start flowering. Fix that ASAP.
Altering the light cycle at this point shouldn’t give you much trouble. Keep it consistent after you change it to meet your work schedule.
just changed from 2pm-2am. it was dark had to use my flash light so they didnt stay in complete darkness. hope i didnt screw them up. thanks for the advice. was going by the manual in my light. lol
During vegetative growth the plants need more light than dark. If the plants have 12h of dark or more they will start to flower and produce buds and not grow any larger.
anything i should be alarmed at by the leaning over? just put to 18 on 6 off btw. so light running from 2pm to 8am
She looks like she’s really stretching for the light, and might not be getting enough energy. What are you using for a light?
If you’ve got an android phone you can use the app mentioned in this video for a quick hack on a PAR meter. Your girl should be getting between 100-200 PPFD, which would look like 10000-20000 Lux on the app.
@rpearce34 You should also have a humidity dome on a plant that small. They get stressed really easy when they’re so young. If you cut a large pop bottle in half you can use the top as a quick dome. You can even take the lid off and poke a few holes to slowly reduce the humidity as the plant matures.
ill put a humidity dome on. im using a valparspectra 900 48 in over canopy

any other advice would be appreciated. thank you
I think your light is too high and your plant is stretching. Not sure how old yours is, but Google image search “cannabis seedling __ weeks” with your number in there and see what other’s look like. The length of your stem and the small size of your leaves has me worried.
as far as light position goes i was just using the recommendations in the light manual. what would you suggest? can i still salvage this plant?
Try lowering it 12" and watch how it reacts over the next day or two. It’s salvageable but will take some close attention. A little humidity dome and enough light will be a good start.
Looks like you’re doing DWC? Are you watering them by hand right now?
Watching that video again, I’m not sure that app will work with blurple lights. I’d start slow and adjust. Move it down a bit, see if the plants look happier. If not, try something else.
went to visit her this today and she looks dead. not life at all just falling over not sure what to do
Can you put her in a sunny room near a window? She might need some nurturing from mother nature. Keep the roots warm, too.
i can but not sure what to out her in since my pump meeds to stay with the other plant. i have a sun room. but no coco
also if she doesnt work out i want to try another seed. i germinated these sat the 12th. would it be two far behind to pop another one and put it it with the one thats thriving so far? trying to get as much yield. its for me and a couple patients and im not sure one plant yields enough before next harvest. im in missouri just got med card last month
