Looking pretty good my friends … nice stout little plant , looks like she’s gonna have quite a few bud sites. , somewhere around post 50 and on . my round 2 for indoor
Thread. you will start to see some of the monsters I’ve grown out of the little trough setup and my solo cup plugs I’ve been using them a while. :joy::rofl:

Good deal. This forum helped me tremendously. Went from growing hay to growing stuff i can be proud of. I always be getting compliments and i have to give credit where its due. Anyways i had another thought. You can also try to just bend the fan leaves out of the way. I usually try to do that before cutting. I also try to keep the trimming to a minimal during flower. Just a couple at a time if you have too.

Day #56 day 9 flower… We finally got the humidifier (no more trays to knock over lol).

Good morning! So we may have an issue on our hands or we may be overthinking…

We’ve noticed our leaves are a bit damaged (tearing/almost eatten/light damage discoloration).

Light shouldn’t be an issue 850 ppfd and 72 (i want to say dli).

We’ve looked for pest/signs of and we don’t see any critters. We’re also indoor on 2nd floor so the enviro is clean.

We’ve been having ph spikes +.3 per day average (not overly concerned as a sign of feeding).

We’ve been very concerned about ppm/ec rising. Ppm going up by +20 or so per day and ec rising around +.1 per day.

With that said we are concerned about salt buildup at roots… We’ve dropped ppm to 1010 last night (was 1150) and right now they are at 1000. We’ve dropped ec to 2.0 last night (was 2.3) and right now it is at 2.0. Slight fishtank smell yesterday which isn’t present or at least noticeable right now. All this was adjusted using RO water 3 gallons total no additional nutes. One gallong was treated with 2.5ml HCO.

Our current action is to keep topping off with just RO water until things stablize and we’re seeing ppm/ec dropping and ph still increasing.

Does this sound wise? Suggestions? Pictures included…

Nutrient cycles (how often feed/water): complete water change every 7 days, foliar spray every 4 days, HCO 2.5ml per gal at changeout. We were topping with nute rich RO water but just switched to RO only diet for top off (fear of nutelock/salt buildup).

Question what the heat like on that light? Can you lower it more? Do you guys possible have a par meter? Maybe a laser temp gauge to check leaf temp and other apsects of that envieoment and light temp on surfaces?

Brilliant! No par meter… just an app for ppfd and dli… We do have a laser temp gauge though! Thank you and we’ll be right back lol!

@acoupleofleaves You said you are using DWC with a Topfeeding system? Are your roots suspended in the nutrient solution as well as getting fed from above?

I use Hydroguard and it has kept my roots healthy and seems to work as advertised. I would recommend adding it or something like it to your nute changes.

There will be a natural drift of PH and PPM between your weekly changes. I have been topping off with RO water PHd at 6.00 for most of my grows and it seems to keep things pretty stable.

A good image of your root system may help us narrow things down as well.

@PreyBird1 So our temps via laser temp gauge are:

-125.6F directly on light bar
-80F on all for 4 walls (averaged) about 4" above canopy (highest 81.6 and lowest 78.9)
-71.6F highest leaf on canopy
-70F average across canopy top
-73.4F inner plant temp (main stalk)
-72.0F water temp right now
-71.9F roots
-81.7F Air Temp
-44.9 RH
-VPD currently all fucked up at 2.02 (according to chart) trying to get that under control via humidifier but that battle is a pain… it’ll go up to 55 or so then it would plummet (under daytime conditions).

Thanks again for the help!

@truthhound Thank you! Yes and yes . The roots are 1in give or take .25 inches above water line and there is top feed as well (on for 15 mins every 2:15 hrs). We’ll check out hydroguard! That may be a golden ticket for us.

My 2c here…
Almost all your feed problems will be related to pH and EC/ppm.

It’s really pretty simple. pH may vary by small amounts, no big deal, as long as it remains in range all is well.

EC/ppm rising indicates a very possible chance that you’ve reached a ‘lockout’ state. Your plants are not able to metabolize the nutrients provided. (In planting media you would check your pH/EC being fed and the pH/EC of your DRAIN water…anytime your drain water approaches or exceeds the EC of the feed you’re approaching that lockout possibility.) BTW high EC/ppm may very well fry root hairs because of the high osmotic pressures. You actually reach a point where you’re actually DRAWING water out of the plant.

You did the right thing…drop that EC back by 50% and give your roots about 3-4 days to recover.

I know that you recently purchased some BBP. With the size of your plants, I’d say you would really benefit from applying 2.5 ml/8 oz water once a week (probably 1.25ml/4 oz water will cover the foliage you have) By the time you put your second application on those little bitches should have their metabolic capability ‘petal to the metal’. At that point you’ll see what that girl is capable of !!

Your root color looks SUPERB!!!

@TheMadFlascher thank you so much! Indeed! Yes we did pick up some BBP! We must say thank you so much for the literature as well with it! We can tell you truly care and we’re excited to try it. The only reason we haven’t tried it yet was out of fear because we have used another foliar spray (TPS) and we’re afraid of incompatibility. Do you feel like we can apply BBP right now with the lockout? We’d love to try it out right now… The bottle is in our hands as we speak lol!

Perhaps…what is tps??

Seriously everyone! Thank you all so much for the help! We and our little green crack baby truly appericate it!

@TheMadFlascher TPS Canopy Boost. It is 0.2% Magnesium (derived from magnesium fulvate) and 0.5% Humic Acid.

At those concentrations, I see no issues.
Honestly. I believe that formulation would be more effective applied in your nutrient solution.
I wouldn’t hesitate giving your girl her first shot of BBP at the next ‘lights out’

It usually takes about 3-5 days for your plants to ‘learn’ utilizing BBP. But after that you will most likely see overnight responses…
Good luck and please don’t hesitate asking me any questions as your grow proceeds. I want you to attain maximum results…usually after a grow or two you’ll have it dialed in !

@TheMadFlascher Awesome!!! We have it all mixed up and ready to go for lights out in 20mins! Thank you and oddly enough it smells amazing too! We’re maybe a little too excited lol!

@acoupleofleaves Nothing wrong with being excited. Lol. I get like that too. Especially popping some new strains. Looking good. Considering your issue, trying to get caught up on what’s going on , I got called into work last night , we got some light snow , got home bout 3 am this morning and got the day off , guess I’ll get some reading done :+1::+1::v:. I’m going to have to check out this BBP that I’ve been hearing about from @TheMadFlascher , see what this magic juice is all about :+1::+1::v:

I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it is an amazing product! It can be used on fruit trees, veggies, and flowers also.

Like @nacho151, I`ve been using it last couple years too. It makes a huge difference!
