Did you remove the root?

Took the shell off to early. Put it in soil, it might make it.

Don’t count it out just yet, you have a 50/50 chance it will make it.

I give it 75/25. That looks nice and healthy. Just plant and dome it.

Good luck farmer.

Why is that paper plate so soggy wet looking.? Dont you put that wet paper towel into a ziplock? And do you heat the seed when you germinate it? What temp do you germinate at? In the light or the dark?

If the the shell split and no tail its lifeless. Sorry. Move on to another seed. I had like 3 seeds in the last 6 months do this.

Yah @PreyBird1 I really didn’t really leave the seed to grow. I kept checking on it because my velvet glove and some of my purple brownie batter didn’t sprout and I was getting nervous about it. I kinda left it in both dark and light though I heard you want it dark. I left it on a plate but I think I got it to wet. I never tried to put them in a zip lock. Sounds like a good idea :bulb: I bought a thing called the seed sprouter. Maybe it will do the trick.

Easy way to sprout.

  1. Soak seed in water 24 hrs. Or until they pop open.
  2. Take paper towel and put the seed into it and get it wet. Not dripping but wet. Put in plastic bag or ziplock.
  3. Put in the dark at 70-80 degrees. Or a seedling heat mat.

Example.

My method:

  1. Take the seed in your fingers and take a fine nail file and file the ends and the side seams of the seed just until the shiny shell turns brown. Once you do it once you will have it down. This helps the water get to the seed. Another way is to take a match box and line the inside with sandpaper fine grit. And put seed in and shake a little. Easier for lots of seeds. But takes longer to make make it initially. Then i take a paper towel wet it down and i put into a zip lock bag and set it up on my fluorescent light because it sits at 78- 83 degrees all the time.
If you zoom into the picture ontop of the light for the bottom plants by the plugs you can see where i stick the baggie. Its not totally dark so i wouldnt worry as much about total darkness. Just put a piece of black plastic over it.

Do you close the ziplock?

Yes keeps it from drying out.

Make sure u leave some air in it when u close it.

H2O + o2 + 70°- 80° = germination.

I use pill bottles. Put some water in them about 1/3 full, throw the seeds in, put the top on, put on a heat mat

Next morning. Tap roots

But I also just dropped 155 like this

Soak for 12hrs then Paper towel method for 24hrs is the only thing I do and it works perfect every time with darkness and correct temps.

That should be good.12 or 24 hrs they should but if they haven’t after 24hrs. Move them to moist paper towel in sandwich bag. But I’ll be around so just keep us updated

The good thing is @PreyBird1 and @Bigred is I’m testing this on a batch of seeds that I harvested from my banana cream. So I didn’t use the thugs breath or the purple brownie batter😄
