New Lights, Setting up a small Hydroponic System for this next grow

Hello bro hope all are fine with you :muscle::heart: wanna Ask you How long need to dry now ? 1-2 weeks? @nacho151

I dry until my moisture meter gives me a reading of 16 to 18, then run it through the trimmer tumbler and put it in a Cvault with a Boveda 62% Pack and open the Cvault 2 times a day and stir the flowers around for 2 weeks. If you are using jars take your flowers out of the jars and spread them out on a baking sheet and let sit a minimum of 5 minutes then put them back in the jar with a humidity pack 2 times a day.

Honestly don’t use the boveda packs unless u r long time storage and not opening the container. The boveda packs rob taste and smell from the weed. It’s proven fact from a lot of growers that they dry the weed too fast if it is not dried fully and they alter the taste and smells of the product. I’ve used it one time in the very first run and so far after not using comes out with way better taste and smells. I’d only use boveda packs of u cannot maintain a steady decent rh in the vault sitting in a spot by itself. Try some in a jar or so without the boveda and see if I urself taste and smell any differences like most other do.

Take it you’re getting the cannatrol (i believe it’s called) cabinet? We’ve looked at those and they look awesome! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

I’d like to see some data proving this. I’ve heard of people using it to add moisture to the flower when it’s too dry. But I’ve never heard this crap before. Give us something that’s proof. Show us where you’re seeing these other growers that this is happening to. I don’t like to see bro science being handed out to new growers. I’d rather see them get proven data… just sayin.

I believe it is on ilgm most who use them complain it dries out the product too fast and alters the taste. I havnt really been much on ilgm in a while so I can’t even recall what thread it was on. I’ll see if I can find the posts or thread and get what I can find. A lot of the growers there that grow for a while don’t use them for this reason. Man gonna have my fricken mind going now til I can find the posts about this. I wanna say everyone talked about it for almost a solid week on the thread ok off to go look now it’s starting to big me on who’s thread it was on but I believe hellraisers and all was in on the post and most say don’t use it til long time storage or cure if u can’t keep a stable rh in the container.

I don’t believe it was all on this thread but from the king grower himself.

Exactly what I’m talking about. He said the exact opposite thing that you did. read what he said about not using them for long term and only putting them in community jars. To maintain the humidity when the jar is opened and closed constantly.

He also said he uses grove bags. They are a complete game changer. There’s a lot of data on them and there’s a lot of people using them. They work as advertised. look them up.

I use intgra packs for moisture. But 8m going to do some testing soon as i get it. They have to wrap it with my graphics and they keep emailing me and i dont respond so its taken longer. And i do rapid 25% dries on plants for 2-3 days then i do curing stuffs. But im hoping this can cure them where it controls the smell a little better and and i can stop messing with 2 steps of drying and using boxes to control final humidity before curing. I do all my dry and curing by hand and eye and scent. I can grab a bud squeeze it and smell it and i can tell exactly how long until itts ready to smoke. So hopefully i wont have to do that as much with this machine.

I have never dried/cured cannabis before. Do you guys have a guide or any links that would be good to follow?

@nacho151

How do you go through the process?

I do it different because of not doing a wet trim anymore, I do a dry trim with a machine and I use Cvaults and humidity packs for curing. For new growers I suggest doing it this way: hang your harvest while maintaining the correct temperature and humidity, bend the branches everyday till they snap, remove the flowers from the branch (Bucking), put the flower in whatever container you plan on using after trimming, suspend a humidity pack from the top of the lid, preferably without touching your harvest inside the container. 2 times a day remove the flower from the container and spread out your flower on a baking sheet or a cookie sheet (basically the same thing at my house) let it set for 5 or more minutes, but less than 10 and then put it back in your container, (that’s called burping), do that everyday for 2 weeks, after 2 weeks every once in a while open the container for a few minutes unless you open the container everyday to use some. If you use the search here you can find a lot of information on drying and curing.

I don’t positively know personally but i read the same thing from seasoned growers on the forum im mainly on since i bewn there a lot longer several years and they say the same that they dont use them unless they have to but didn’t say taste etc… they didn’t say why but i guess they have reasons on Grasscity Forum is where i mostly hang out.

Me too I’ve been seeing and say nah stick with my old ways they work for me. But man they sound too simple. Lol.

They work great for curing and storage. But they’re not great for daily use. i’ll elaborate later if need be. Right now I’m heading out the door. :v:t3:

I didn’t clone this plant due to the lack of space currently in my grow room.

We’re going to be using the cure puck. Going to be interesting. Hopeful it goes well! It’ll definitely give good data though!
