Q&A on Nitrogen or Other Gas-Purge Sealing

Greetings Growers Network Community!

I have some questions about long-term gas-purge storage. Does anyone on here have experience in sealing standard units with gas-purge?

if so,

  1. How long does gas-purge extend shelf life?
  2. Once the seal has been broken, how long does the product retain freshness?
  3. What is your gas of choice and why?

Thank you!

1.Gas purging extends freshness much longer than most any other method.

2.Once seal is broken material can dry up pretty quickly depending on
environmental humidity.
3.nitrogen gas, displaces all oxygen which keeps products from degrading
due to the oxidization process.

Are you gas purging flower? Do you believe its worth the cost, given the long shelf life of properly stored flower? Are you gas purging wholesale batches or retail packaging??

Sorry, Iā€™m a bit ignorant on this subject. Please enlighten me.

I am interested in this topic too.

We have done some nitrogen packaging on a smaller scale but never got to a
production scale with it.

How much do the canning machines cost and what gas mixture do they use?
