RUNTZ strain anyone grown it yet? What to expect?

I actually tried an obama strain. I seriously thought it was a joke when when my friend sold me a zip. Then i smoked some of it and kind of chuckled at the name. Then i got curious and googled the name and low and behold! it’s a real strain i was really impressed wow and it did help with pain like the strain info page showed. Obama runtz sounds interesting. Exoticgenetics just had some pre-releases of like 5 strains and all the mothers are Runtz crossed with 5 other strains. They just finished with cannabis cup winner “Tina” and “cream of tina” breeding and the strains are to be discontinued. Last years winners were grease monkey and they crossed that strain and its current. I cant wait to try the new runtz crosses.

Obama was the shit 10 years ago bro when Medical was legal… I haven’t seen it years but it’s really really good from what I smoked… Fuckin crazy how I can remember a strain once someone mentions a certain one I’ve had lol

I havent grown a lot of strains. Ive only started adding over the last year. The hash passion has HUGE buds hard as hell to trim and a shit ton of leaves. And it can but rot insanely fast if you dont keep it dry and lots of air above and below. I want to cross the galactic god with it because it has almost no leaves and super tight medium buds. I may cross it with the white caviar just because i can. I have 6 tents. And i have 3 im prepping for breeding. Im actually transplanting today and then flipping in another week. The beans will be here soon!
I also recloned my entire garden. I have 24 clones. Again. I never chopp my strains untill i have rooted plants. I always have back ups.

Im adding this little guy to my strains. Nyc diesle. Not sour diesle from soma seeds in Amsterdam. I only got 2 seeds one did split the shell enough and strangled it self in 11 hrs. 1 survived.

The powder is jaks dead bug powdered spinosad. Just a light dusting keeps any bugs away. And im watering with a IPM plan now. Using a systematic soil treatment.

Before you get seeds you have to look up the leaf ratio’s, that one is important to me, trimming sucks with one working arm

Yeah i can imagine. Im glad your doing better @piper. I have trimmed so much bud now I AM SICK OF IT. Seriously i staged my grows as perpetual and that was a bad idea. Wayyyy to much weed wayyy to much time in the garden wayyy to much trimming. The leaf ratio IS important you are so right i just realize this now. I hated trimming the hash passion. its a freaking forest of leaves. I got a full pound to make hash with just to get rid of it. It makes crazy huge buds i could not believe it made 1.2 lbs dried. Then i had 6 clones right behind that they 1.3lbs and these were worse to trim. I still have many clones (back ups) but i dont like to trim it at all. So im gonna cross it maybe with different males. I have normally 1 strain in 3 staged growth sizes. Small 3-4" medium 8-14" and larger 3.5’ i have enough plants to make 18 crosses and i can flower out 3 strain flower combinations at one time in each tent. I have all the tents in different areas of my grow so they cant cross polinate. And on different air filtration systems. I want to see what i can mix with the hash passion to play with it. And some other strain i enjoy and maintain constantly.

Yeah, I hear ya, I can’t wait to end this run, they will be stunted, yield will be lower, but, I brought them back from the dead  next time I will start over, it’s not worth it for me, I am going to put these 13 into flower I think at the beginning of July, they should be big enough for some clones, nl, lucky charms, blueberry spacequeen I know are females, those are important to get clones from for me.

Oh the auto is a female also, sometimes I clone them (just for fun and to let the trichs get really amber) but I am pushing the limits with my light and tent with 13 plants.

I used to use huge tote tubs with 2 plants in a tub, I might go back to that after I get one more run in.

I hope, to get 10oz out of these 13 stunted plants, hell, I’ll be happy with a bowl, it just sucks I wasted 2/3 months on this run, but, like I said, I brought them back to life so thats the only good feeling

Lol dont get me started on wasted plants. I cut down 35 plants due to mites and lost 1lb of weed. And some great plants. Really shitty lost time, money, nutrients my mind trying to kill the bastard. Mites are a bitch because if the web at all your screwed because they spin silk threads like spiders. And you cannot kill the eggs or the adults if there under there protective silk spun tent. Bastards. Best to chop and steralize the area. But you can clone and treat the clones with a wash and spinosad spray every 3 days for 9-12 days. Then you can burn the rest or bag them carefully. Surprisingly the little bastards will make you itch like a mother if you get them on your arms or skin. And they can climb all over. I have seen them climb up the tent walls to the ceiling and go all over. And if you forget to spray before there all gone they’ll be right back with a quickness and become resistent to the pesticides. Mites i have discovered are the worst bugs to have. Gnats are the least damaging and 2nd are thrips.

Serious infestation. It was like a tiny flea circus of epic proportions.

@PreyBird1 so I’m finishing up week 9 of flowering and my buds are no where near where they should be size wise. What’s the longest you can leave in flower and any advice would be appreciated. Tgankx

Um you can leave them for long time but they will only grow more hairs and your THC will change and ruin what you want.youll get more of a no high and all body. It would not be good. Some times you have to practice a strain before you can grow it really well. I have been playing with this strain for a 1yr solid. Then they will hermie and produce flowers to try and stay alive for the next season. Which could work in your favor. Because the pollen from a female plant that has no mate. will make male flowers full of femanized pollen and it will self pollinate. And 2 things are going to happen.

  1. Femanized seeds - will happen
  2. They could be hermie seeds - may happen?
The hermies could happen from stress. Because of end of life stress. Also plants have a designed to continue on some way some how.
You can makes a silver thiosulfate solution. This blocks the plants female hormone. That tells the plant to grow female pre flowers and causes this female plant to grow male flowers full of femized pollen instead. Usually this way you get a better quality of seed vs a plant with hermie and or mixed hormone levels making the seeds unstable - hermie? Or a more stable seed?

it’s called rodelization… I always leave some buds on the my plants… sometimes I get seeds sometimes no seeds sometimes mold… seeds are a win and anything else is just nothing no loss…lol…

@PreyBird1 ok so on the other had with this being the ninth week. Let’s say I’m ready to wrap up the first first grow. (Mainly for time reasons) I’m moving outta state in the next month and a half) I want to just kinda start the harvest process. What should I do?. Last night was my second day of water flush. How long should I flush? I also had read something about leaving them in complete darkness for 2-3 days? And tips and hanging a whole plants to dry, or any of the processes that come next. Thanks

7 day flush would be enough if your nutrients didn’t have heavy metals in them like molybdenum etc… if so I would go 14

I have tried flushed and not flushed. Tasted almost the same. I honestly was to hight to really tell. You can harvest whenever your ready then. Also harvest before the lights come on in the tent. Better taste if the plants still resting when chopped. I like to trim all the big leaves off the night before i chop because it adds a little trichs from stress i read? But its easier to trim if the plant is still alive in the pot. Otherwise i take a branch at a time and go to town 1 at a time. Sometime i hang it and then trim it. But if you leave more leaves until the end of cure you have better terpines and flavor. If you cut all the leaves off as a wet trim its nice but totally different flavors. But the buds are easier to trim when there alive you can bent the buds a little and get the leafs cut nice and close.

  1. Cut plant before lights would normally come on.
  2. Trim as much as you want while it is alive and still in the pot. Once you cut it down. It gets a lot tricker to deal with. Resin on arms or other stuff sucks. Watchout!
  3. Get a trim bin its a must have.
  4. Curing is very important! If done wrong everything you worked so hard to grow goes poof!
  5. Curing. I have a nice system i use (nobody will like this) Fresh cut buds left to hang for 5-7 days at 74 degrees and 30% - 40% humidity. I like a fast dry at first. Then i move them to a black out tent for 14-20 days at 65-69 degrees 50% RH. Then to a jar with a 2 way bovita moisture pack. Depending hiw the bud feels in my fingers outter leaves crunch a lttle and the little resistance it gets a 52% integra or bovita pack. If the whole bud feels too dry and when i squeeze it and it crunches from leaves and into the main bud and i can feel it crunching deeper in the bud. It gets a 62%RH pack. If there is a lot of fresh bud i use the least amount of 52% humidity. Because a lot of different size buds have different density and can still have moisture and will share the moisture amongst smaller over dried buds. If you say take a 5 gallon bucket put 1.5 lbs of dense bud and its too moist and you go full on 62% RH your gonna get bud mold inside the buds. Like bud rot but after the growing.
