I do 48 hrs of darkness before I chop my plants. Being in the dark is when our plants are no longer up taking any nutrients. Our plants release their neg charge through the roots at nighttime. That’s when I see my ph drift down on my continuous ph meter. From what I read it’s supposed to help with the taste and burn of our buds. I’ve never done a side by side, so idk if it really helps??

Gunna start trimming tonight. Wondering what’s the best way to get/preserve the pollen from the trim? I figure it will be to sticky to sift rite away… also I wanna hang there whole plant, do I cut the stem at the lowest point before dirt? Any other advice appreciated

I hang whole plants sometimes… when I do thats what I do…get a trim bin…

I have a trim bin with a 150 mesh screen but do I have to freeze the trim? I’ve seen ppl use dry ice to get all the pollen off but It’ll be too sticky to shake right away no?

That’s after you trim…you cut and what ever falls off is free trichomes… mine go to the fire pit as I don’t have a trim bin… after your buds are trimmed if you want then sift them…

Edit: ask me anything! I grow this strain non stop. There is also another member here who grows pink runtz commercially has a huge greenhouse full of them. Doesnt sell genetics or clones. But has knowledge also. I have been growing this strain for more than a year and i perma clone it. I have 4 cross strains also. And i have 2 phenotypes of Runtz and 2 phenotypes of white runtz. I am currently doing side by side testing of my Runtz against a commercial seller of the strain to verify if it’s the real “one” I have smoked over a QP of each strain from the dispensary and and have grown the seeds. I have 11 generation down to 4 generation clones. I keep no mothers anymore. I permaclone cycle in a perpetuation. The new clones become the new mothers. I always take extra clones and prefere to have the same plant in 4 stages of growth before i flower off the big original mother that has the tap root. And i take clone in different ways in 2 different compartments areas. If a cloner goes down you better have back ups or you can lose you clones. I always select my best clone of the mother to be the next mother. Since i clone all my plants i have 5 males for breeding. And they have already been cloned again and i cloned them 6 days ago. If i stage my clones i can stage my perpetuation and i just roll on and on and on. My entire garden started with 9 seeds. And currently im maintaining 12 living strains. And i just sprouted 2x Dr grinspoons a 100% herloom pure sativa back crossed for 32yrs to the original phenotype. This strain is on my BUCKET LIST of must grow strains!

Got the gal as a clone. Just hit wk 2 of flower and she growing beautiful in my mind. This is my first cannabis grow so my questions are was Runtz finicky while growing? How can you tell if it’s the real deal meaning is it a fake runt plant and just gelato 33 lol my other plant is sunset Blvd and I’ve never heard of that either. Also what was your avg yield after cure? Ik hard question to answer just curious. Lol if your friend lives in the LA area let them know looking for a cultivation job.

Can share more pictures once they wake up

  1. Are runtz finicky qhile growing. - A. Depends on the phenotype. If its a white or a green phenotype. Meaning it does not turn purple. They are a little more sensative to heat and low humidity. If its a real runtz it will be the burple one and that one is very robust and grows easily and make really really dense nugs. Like rocks. Now the green or white is super fruity and my favorite is the white fruity runtz. But there all really stoney.
  2. Thats a tuff question. Can be a 6oz-13oz depends on how you grow it. I have done christmas tree, multi-topped bush, a Huge muti-topped bush, Sea of green, and lst now. And DWC aeroponic is coming soon so i can do all these styles again and see what i like :+1:.

  3. Proof of it being the real deal is also up in the air if you dont know. In me experience the runtz strain is not stabilized well enough yet. Thats why theres white, red, pink runtz phenotypes and all tje seeds that exist were dispensary bag seeds that had the hermie trait and the plants made some seeds-femanized seeds. When i grew mine out i got 4 phenotypes. I have the best ones now after cloning and selecting. Now im trying for a male but no joy. And i had 28 seeds of each white and regular runtz traded them away and grew a bunch. Trying to get time to make some more seeds.

So you use soilless media mainly? Using personal compost , which I tested NPK before trans planting so I could get a better read on what I should use as far as amendments. LST all thru veg mixed w super cropping. Currently top dressing for any nutes they will need. Will feed again on week 3 So the nutes will last about 30day and I will be able to just water when needed until harvest…

I have grown runtz in the following medias.

  1. FF soil.
  2. Happyfrog soil.
  3. Coco coir.
  4. Coco coir soil mix
  5. Tupur.
  6. HP promix HP.
Soon i will be testing vermiculite and a peat mix with dolomite lime and gypsum. Will be interesting tests. I like to try things. I have also done clone testing on every piece of them. Like tops, side shoots, armpit shoots. I tried with more or less leaves. And with more nodes in the cloner. And i also clone with a hydro float table. Similar to kratkys non circulating hydroponics.

On the watering part i do a light water every day. I use 275-300 gallons of water a month and at full capacity ill hit 350 gallons of water.

Do you keep record of everything? That’s a lot of valuable data if you do. Is this a full time gig for you? Neve even heard of vermiculite and a peat mix with dolomite lime and gypsum mix. What rooting hormone do you prefer? Have you tried the boil honey/water solution?
