Exactly! No water, no food, no burn.

Well I’m telling you I tried everything to fix the growing white tips and nothing worked more than a day on greening up until I shut the IR/UVA light bars off and they got green immediately and are staying that way. It also can’t be the strain because I have four different in there and they were all doing the same weird things.

I’m just speculating but I’m thinking that the Durolux lights have enough spectrum in the IR/UVA range and adding those bars overdosed them with too much. It’s the only logical explanation. The Durolux don’t use the Samsung chips.

Hey Marty, going back to the citric acid decarb…just curious how long did you let it sit?

Jaxson, I let it sit for over a week just threw it out last night, tried it the night before again no buzz, but would pucker you up for sure lol. Buddy came over and we both ate a little rolled up ball of it and no go.

Got another question for all you master cloner’s. 1) Do you use a heat mat, and 2) if you do what temp do you set it at?

I already had a heat mat, was cleaning up some of my grow stuff and organizing and it got down to under 70 in the basement last night and I thought I bet it’s getting too cold. I hooked it up and set it for 77 degrees with a towel between the tray and the mat.

Suggestions?

I keep mine set at 78. So you’re fine where you’re at because how close to the exact temperature are these things really. A degree or two one way or the other :man_shrugging:. I think anywhere between 75 and 80 And you should be all right. When I first started I either heard from several places or saw it on several videos where they were using 78 so that’s what I’ve been doing ever since. Depending on the strain using rockwool cubes I have gotten roots showing as fast as six days. If I’m doing multiples most of the time they are showing roots between seven and 10 days.

Thanks Hap, forgot I had that heat mat. Maybe they will start rooting faster now. Put 26 clones in and hoping for 6 good ones. I factored in the die factor newbie clones lol. Cut the branches and shoots off anyway figured I might as well put em all in.

Are you using cubes? What kind of cloning solution are you using? Not that it matters just curious. :+1:t3::v:t3:

Yes I’m using the small squat 2x2 cubes two per seedling starter cup, one stacked on top of the other to get to the top of them. I am using Midas cloning gel, and Clonex clone nutes at 5 ml per L.

How about a picture buddy. I’m a little confused on stacking cubes. Anyway I’ll drop you a couple of pictures. These are the clones 19 days after being started in cubes. They were put in these cups of soil about five days ago.

No problem Hap…I bought a couple sheets of 2x2 rock wool cubes but they were only 2” thick so I stacked one on top the other to fill the starter cups.

I cut these clones yesterday about noon. 19 days from flip.

I would take that apart and put a large stone or something under it to hold it up. It’s going to grow through to the second cube which isn’t as good for transplanting and if the second cube sticks in the cup you will tear the roots apart pulling it out. Pushing it out you would probably be OK but if you’re going to grow in something other than rockwool The smaller the cube the better after transplant in my experience. Even a 3 inch cube will work for transplanting, I just have found the plants don’t do quite as well. My only guess would be rock wool doesn’t hold water very well so the roots in the rockwool hard’n off which takes time and energy away from the plant. :man_shrugging:

Damn, look like you’ve got some good soil over there. Nice and dark. It’s clay where I’m at.

Hap I have hundreds of these seedling pots, and I have almost eight weeks to go before I start the next grow with these clones. I also thought about getting them out in one piece, I’m just going to cut the pot off the rock wool when I transplant, before then hopefully I’ll have them in my organic soil mix in 20 oz cups

Yep if you remember earlier in my grow I asked everyone on or off on these. The consensus of opinion was turn them on, which I did, that was at the very beginning. Then I started having all the problems with the pale white /whitish yellow tips and tried as you know a lot of different stuff in moderation thinking it was a lack of nutrients. It never occurred to me it was the IR/UVA bars. Being this was my first go around with this earth dust I wrongly guessed it was a nute deficiency.

And I also mentioned that the Rapid LED site says to turn them on last two weeks of flower. I’m guessing they are too powerful for during the grow and early flower and only intended to stress the plant the last little bit for trichrome/terpene production. That’s sure the way it’s working out. Anyway they are back on track and getting healthier every day since I turned the bars off. I left the Far red bars on as I ran them all through the last grow.

Yeah my UV bars for 30 W each and I have two of them. Those things you got look like they’re 200 W each. They’re beasts.

Back to the rock wool thing… If you’re growing in soil and you’re going to be putting those in 20 ounce cups. Which is not a very large area in of itself and you’re using soil so you’re not going to be feeding. You’re going to be wasting a lot of space for nutrients/soil by using 2 cubes.

Well we got severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes heading right into my city. Gonna hit in about 15-20 min. Had a not so bad one earlier today. Got some good rain which we needed. Hasn’t rained in about two plus weeks.

Well the rock wool sticks in those pots by themselves, probably take em apart tomorrow and pull all the bottom ones out, roots should be fine in the moist air underneath. Thanks for the heads up!

Keep them domed and spray them with the same solution you soak your cubes in. And they should be just fine. :+1:t3::v:t3:

Tornado sirens are going off. Good part is my office grow room is in the basement in a solid concrete coal room.
