Testing by preybird1 - Perma Clone Collars

Pure water is neutral at a pH of seven. There are things that can affect it like going in low or going in high. My water coming out of the ground is around seven maybe a little higher. And it’s somewhere right around there after it’s been through the RO. distilled water should be seven. I guess all that really matters is the end result when you’re done setting it to where you want. :v:t3:

That sounds more like deionized. Won’t conduct electricity. At least that’s what they say. I have not, and probably will not test that. :joy:

If you’re putting the minerals back into it you would definitely be able to pH it but I’ve always heard as Mark said there’s nothing in it to pH so it will take on the pH of whatever you put it in that’s why RO water is bad for the body and it leeches the body of all of your good stuff and you piss it out with the RO water and your minerals

I don’t understand why but distilled water pure RO water that is deionized is a pH of seven. That is the number that is in neutral. It’s like starting at zero. And it goes up or down depending on if it is acidic or not. At least that’s what Google says. In multiple places. Anybody else try looking it up?

Ok well here is my cheap vivosun meter readings on r/o water vs. Tap water. I did not feel like breaking out the blue labs meters for these pics.

Here is the r/o water.

And the tap water.

using a 7 stage geekpure with no re mineralization

Its been a minute and she is running a slight bit slow like the line is clogged or something. We have really hard water here tho

Here’s my before, and after the PH and EC. Our water is drinkable, but if you don’t want to drink a whole bunch of nitrates from them fertilizing these orchards over the years you have to use RO. This water is full of nitrates and extremely high in calcium. That’s why the EC is so high.

Before

After

This is pretty interesting. But I’m not going no further down this Rabbit whole.
Most of us seem to be doing pretty well. Whatever we start with. I’m at the point where I don’t care why I just want it to work. :+1:t3::v:t3:

I have been using rain water, as it has less ppm than my ro. I started the question about the ph and Promix because they were talking about it on SC journal on the clave, and I knew that @PreyBird1 uses Promix with great results. I also use Promix HP, but run my ph higher, so I learned that I am running a tad high.:v:

I usually bounce my pH around a little bit. One week it’ll be 5.8 the next week it’ll be 6.2 etc. I learned a long time ago chasing numbers is nothing but confusing. Sometimes when things are working for you you don’t worry about why you just enjoy the fact that they are. :joy::joy::v:t3:

(In my case, when I was chasing numbers, all they did was run away faster.) :joy:

Oh yeah, one more thing. The blue lab soil pen is a game changer. As soon as I figured out how to get my pH stable in my media, everything else fell into place pretty easily.

I just use the RV inline filters on my city tap water. Ph is usually around 7.2 and I just adjust from there. I used r.o for a while. But I didn’t like the amount of waste from my setup . 2:1 . Personally only difference I’ve noticed was a higher water bill with r.o. lol. I had used these filters previously and figured I’d try r.o. And back to the Inlines I went. It works for me :v:

Lol half the time i dont need to adjust anything. I have a system that is perfect for me.

I’ve been using rainwater with roots organic did a change this run with pro mix hp per @PreyBird1 big difference thicker stalks and healthier plants i use jacks and ph to 6.5 alternate with rainwater only and the girls suck it up faster keeps me hopping lol

These are full on buds i cloned and im reveging them. This strain was very very gassy and i enjoyed it enough to try and reveg it!

Clones are done but ingot busy and only transplanted 7 i have 4 more. These will become the new baby mothers. :face_with_monocle::nerd_face:

Ok here are some more clones.

One clone needs a bit more time. And im cutting 4 clones tomorrow for the hydro system. So ill leave that clone a few more days

Ok guys and gals. I have selected the cuts for the hydro system. And here they are.

Here is how they are looking tonight.

This is exactly why i dont use a dome. They kind wilt for a day but. Then there is not having to acclimate them later once there rooted. Which stops them from getting shocked from transplants.

Do you foliar spray to keep damp at all, or just watch them grow?

I just snip and forget! But this time i tried a different type of cutting the side. I kind of sliced down the side making little slice notches into the stems about every 1/2". I have tried scraping them slicing and peeling the stems down. But this is a little different. I dont even cut the stems at 45° i have found it make zero difference. I only trim the leves if im filling the cloner full for room and so leaves dont overlap. So i just leave a couple leaves on the clone and this time im also getting 2 nodes below the collars and the cuts are 3" longer. So this run were going to see if the notching slices and the longer stems and more nodes makes a difference in the speed or quality of the roots of these cuts.

Ok we got some roots starting to form. Only a little bit more and ill put them into the hydro system.

Ok here we are again! Another cloning and this time its for some reversed strains im making.

Ok so i use a little hash washing machine to clean my collars.

Then i boil them to sterilize them.

The old pump died and so i keep a new one in my inventory.

I took apart the manifold and cleaned it out with my brushes. Lol i have like 30 different kinds of brushes for cleaning things.

All ready to load up with cuts.

I did like 7 clones and these will be my plants for the reversals and the new mother plants.
