Hey! Jon Dougal, a nutrient manufacturer using living micro-algae. Started in the bio-diesel world in 2006, couldn’t compete w/ the big boys who could afford to buy up all the soy oil I needed to produce -en mass._
Thought producing micro-nutrients could stave off future famine do to climate disruption. Found success after a few years it took to educate the benefits of water savings, nitrate/nitrite soil resident breakup. Finally cannabis came along and growers love the 20% increase in bio-mass. Hope to meet some of you at this years conferences. Best of the new year to all!

Hi @JoeGrow
We speak to cultivators on a regular basis all over North America. It really does vary depending on the type of grow but we do see a lot of coco fiber material.

Thanks!
How popular is rock wool outside of SoCal? Less than coco or soil on average?
Do you have commercial compactors/bundlers for rock wool?

Welcome to the party, @digicole! What are some of the products that your company manufactures for the cannabis industry?

We specialize in Industrial Shredders for marijuana waste destruction to ensure compliance as well as Grinders that can aid in extraction for Hemp. I think it’s really kind of cool. We talk to lots of people that use chippers to manage their waste. The problem is that most people end up buying several chippers a year - because they just can handle the materials well.
I can only image what it must feel like to be running your operation and have to STOP and buy yet another chipper!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Britany and I am currently working for @HempStaff . I have been in Horticulture for about 3 years, starting in a wholesale outdoor perennial greenhouse and ending in a 30,000 sq ft indoor cultivation facility for medical cannabis in the state of Pennsylvania.
It was my dream job, but my values did not align with the companies in regards to politics and public advocacy so I left Pennsylvania in December, moved to South Florida and started working for HempStaff Full-Time in charge of customer service and social media along with training operations for our Dispensary Agent Training classes.
I host events in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to bring all aspects of the cannabis industry together and I am also a public advocate for cannabis patients.
I am very excited to have my own account on Grower’s Network so I can participate in forums and receive guidance from other growers as well.
One topic I look forward to learning more about is Tissue Culture

When I help people who work so hard to get in this industry finally see them land a position. It’s so exciting and to see the passion, I believe in the goodness of the industry even though we are forever trying to fight exclusivity, politics and stereotypes. I believe legalization means freedom and I love helping people to understand what that means in their state as well. I love every part !

Hey Growers Network,
My name is Rob Poitevent and I’m with Laticrete International. Laticrete is a 60+ year old family owned construction materials business located in Bethany, CT
Laticrete’s focus for the Cannabis industry is a resinous floor coating system called Spartacote. Spartacote is a low odor/low VOC polyaspartic coating that creates a seamless, highly abrasion & chemical resistant floor perfectly suited for grow houses, labs and processing facilities. If desired, it’s also available in an antimicrobial formulation.
On a personal note, I have 30+ years experience in the construction materials business. The last 10 years have been focused on concrete coatings and related materials. I would welcome the opportunity to assist any Network members with situations pertaining to the flooring needs/problems in any of their facilities.
I look forward to contributing to this community and being involved in conversations.
Have a great day!
Rob

Welcome to the community, @Laticrete_Rob! It sounds like you are a man who knows flooring! How did you and your company discover your Spartacote was ideal for cultivation/processing/extraction environments?

Great question. HP Spartacote was based in Golden, CO when Laticrete acquired it 7-8 years ago. They already had a relationship with a couple of growers in the area. The product is used in airplane hangers, manufacturing facilities, etc and is extremely durable. Grow facilities seemed like natural extension to pursue.
We also do a lot of work in hospitals/food labs/commercial kitchens and felt like the processing/extraction/lab part of the Cannabis business made a lot of sense as well. The product can also be applied vertically and allows for seamless floor/wall systems where needed. This helps with clean ability and well as bacteria control.
