I haven’t heard of either of those. Which of those two do you suggest I try? I looked at the websites for both and didn’t see specific instructions for our use. Where can I get the detailed steps/instructions for this use? Is CalMag still required with those nutrients?
No it’s in them Google search green jeans garden YouTube he’s got a lot of good information tons of growing stuff tons of nutrient information Jack’s nutrients has been around for at least 30 to 50 years they’re both some of the best cannabis nutrients out there in my personal opinion they’re in powdered form so you can adjust if you need more of one thing or the other you can adjust the ratios I like the 4/2 mix works great for veg and Bloom although these days I use a zero nitrogen formula for later flower
How long will these two bags last?
Jack’s Nutrients Calcium Nitrate Fertilizer 15-0-0 (Part A and B Dual Pack, 4.4 Pounds Total (2 Pack)) https://a.co/d/2L9CJJu
I believe it would last you a couple years growing a couple plants at a time just make sure you keep it in a 5 gallon bucket or something that is airtight to keep the moisture out and keep it in a cool place
Get a little bag of Epsom salt from Walmart too in case you need some extra mag occasionally you will need but not usually
I always keep a bag of epsom salts on hand.
Does anyone here want to buy my remainder of Dakine420 nutrients?
What have you got left? Any pics?
Here is what I have:
Grow - about 3/4 of the 200g jar.
Base - a little less than 3/4 of the 500g jar.
Bloom - a full 500g jar and about 1/3 of a 500g jar.
Shock&Awe - about 2/3 of a 500g jar.
Alright, I think these plants are just ready for the garbage bin. They germinated April 4 and lights were flipped June 5; 45 days ago. Neither plant appears to be growing its flowers anymore, they seem to have just stopped growing and are only turning more yellow.
It seems to me that it would be a waste of water and fertilizer to see if they make it to harvest whenever that will be.
What should I do with them?
What are you talking about the plants look fine the buds will get to a certain stage and then start maturing you barely flushed and got the soil corrected a few days ago it will take a bit to get them back on track and soil but it’s your call if you want to waste months worth of work go ahead and throw them out seems like a waste to me
After seeing some other posts you made I think most of your problem maybe nutrient burn from how much stuff you have in your soil you say you have Neptune’s harvest worm castings plus who knows what else you’re putting and then all of the nutrients you’re adding I believe you’re burning the s*** out of your plants you should go under the theory that less is more with all of the amendments you put in there you shouldn’t have really needed much nutrients
You may be correct. I have tried adapting what I know about growing hot peppers to cannabis but it may not have been a good idea.
I don’t use “fortified” soils like Miracle-Gro, etc. Instead, I use basic soil and add worm castings, sphagnum peat moss and compost.
I will add just a little bit of those things and, during growing, adjust the nutrients in the feed water to what the plant needs.
Somehow they appear to be really leafy and not so bufdy like. Did u lighten up on veg nutes and go more on glower butes. Im not familiar with them nutes but prey can prolly tell u. Tge ph is prolly alot to do with things also. Wonder if i can get my wife to get a ph ppm kit off amazon for u just a cheapo for now but my first was a cheapo set and it worked great for year and a half amazon i can just order and have delivered to ur door. Ill let u know soo as my wife gets home. She is out with my oldest daughter for a while today.
I try to follow the guidelines on those nutrients very closely. You are supposed to stop using the Grow nutrient after a few weeks and only use the Base and Bloom. I also add the Shock and Awe during the flowering phase because it is supposed to drastically increase flower size. I haven’t seen that to be the case, though. I just think the Dakine420’s are meant for people with a lot of experience because it just doesn’t seem very forgiving. I bet that is how @PreyBird1 gets such fantastic results. They include a little chart with the packs of nutrients, but I just saw this page on their site providing calculations for usage. I bet I have been using waaaaayyyy too much. My other problem, I’m certain, has been using too small of a container. I thought a 3-gallon container, 5-gallon at the largest, would be fine. Now, I’m thinking that 10 or 15 gallons should be the minimum size container.
I want to try Jack’s 321 nutrients, but I have to reserve my money for basic stuff right now.
This is a problem with dakine420 nutrients because it also tells you use the nutrients every time you water. Thats all sales pitches there. I do use every watering but you can use half of what they tell you to use. Ive had issue with it also here and there. But ive been using it for years and i know there really strong nutrients and when you start adding other things to it, it doesnt work well. So start out with only a 1/3 strength or half strength. If its not enough food the plant will show it. Better to use less and add as you need to. You cant really take the nutriwnts back out once you over so it either.
I just took another look at their interactive feed chart on their site and they say you need to flush every two weeks. I didn’t know you were supposed to do that. Do you guys flush your plants every two weeks?
How much water do you use each feeding? I have about six or seven 1-gallon milk jugs that I use. Each plant seems to take about 1 gallon each feeding every day. Maybe a bit less in the beginning. Does that sound correct, or too much/little?
Well i water nutrients 3 days a week 1 day i do only water and then 3 days of nutrients but when i water or use nutrients i always water to run off since i have been using 1 gallon grow bags it works better to water ro run off. But if its to hot i have to water more.
@PreyBird1 Do u see a difference in yield or quality with 1 gal bags compared to 3 or 5 gal bags.
Watering to run off is a must if it’s salt based nutrients otherwise you will get salt build up in the root zone usual 10-20%run off
@ArtVandalay what was the ppm/pH of your soil after slurry test?
