Nice. Never heard of the nutes or coco but gonna follow along quietly and see what it’s about. Best I can say is talk to manufacturer of nutes and see what they recommend and make sure u mix it all in the correct orders as some nutes will leavh to others if not put in in a certain way or order. Like silica first calmag second then their main nutes parts in the order they have set. If u ever mix a bicker and it looks like u have clumps floating something bonded with another chemical and those that leached with each other will become obsoleted to the plant and do a bad buildup on the soil causing issues. Good luck.

@3daydan Happy New year to you! My name is Marco, and I am part of the marketing team here at Ventana Plant Science. It looks like Mike and Nate have shared some great information on our products. One question I was hoping you could answer was how you came across our products. It will help us with our marketing efforts if we know which channels are the most effective. Thank you for taking the time! And if you still have any more questions about our line of products, please feel free to reach out directly and I can set up a call with the team. marco@growershouse.com.

Hi @3daydan

You cant go wrong with Ventana. There are a couple growers that have used the the nutrient line and documented the grows on GN. Below is the full range from growershouse.com.

Thanks for the backup, I appreciate it as a new grower. I decided on your product after doing some research on different nutrients I found on line. I 'm looking forward to using them on my first coco grow. 3DayDan

I’m about to start a Ventana grow too, we’ll have to compare notes! Just signed up here today, my Ventana kit should arrive in the next couple of days!

For the marketing guys: I found out about Ventana by accident. I had bought the Dyna-Gro line from Grower’s House years ago when it was still a walk-in retail shop (legalize tomatoes! lol). Decided it was time to start another project and went to the website to discover that:
A: Grower’s House isn’t a walk-in shop anymore
B: They’d relocated to a part of town so confusing on Google maps that I decided to just have my order shipped lol (I hate that whole Golf Links/Aviation Highway mess)
C: Dyna-Gro doesn’t seem to be a thing anymore

So I looked at the nute starter kits section and saw Ventana. I’d never heard of them before, so I did some Googling and found the CannaCribs video and then started to notice that everywhere I found anything about them, there were also mentions of Grower’s House. I put 2+2 together and thought “does Grower’s House own Ventana?” and found out they did!

That basically sold me because I know how serious Nate and the team are about this plant and facilitating large commercial ops, so I knew they wouldn’t be putting their reputation at risk with sub-par products, even for a small hobby grower like me. And Fla VAH sounds amazeballs. SCIENCE!

So, not much help for the marketing team, I’m a fluke. :frowning:

Anyway, I literally decided it was time to start a new grow project yesterday and haven’t even started re-connecting myself into the forums and youtube channels I used to haunt yet. Found this one during my Ventana info search and decided it seemed like a good place to be.

I will say that I’m glad they provided a tap/hard water feeding chart. My setup doesn’t include reverse osmosis and keeping a steady supply of distilled water on hand is too obnoxious. My last project went okay just keeping a 5-gallon bucket of highly-aerated standing tapwater on hand. Actually it did better than my previous attempts with distilled.

EDIT: Just realized this thread is a year old! D’oh!

Most TDS (total dissolved solids) meters will give you both ppm (parts per million) and EC. It is the same thing, just a different number and different method of measurement. You can use either.

The EC is just the electrical conductivity of the water with the nutrients in the water. You should either use RO (reverse osmosis) water or if you use tap, well or rain water, you should first find out the EC or PPM of that water, then use the chart to find out the recommended numbers of the nutrient in solution. With tap water, well water or rain water you should first test the water without nutrients, then take that number and ADD it to the recommended nutrient concentration in the chart from Ventana. If your tap, well or rain water is say 100 ppm, then add 100 to the recommended number in the Ventana chart. If you use RO water it should be very close to zero and no addition is needed.

Hope that helps

What if my water is 682ec?? Checked with 2 different testers. One only does EC (Apera) and one does EC/PPM (cheap-ass Ubante), both read nearly identical. There is no decimal point. Distilled reads 1.5 for comparison. PPM is already higher than any feed chart I’ve ever seen, without any nutes added! Is it possible for tap water to be this bad??

Well if it tests that bad with two different meters then most probably it is. My tap water is over 300 ppm. But I use RO water now exclusively except on my outside grows there I use rainwater.

I think maybe a call to your water company is in order.

(facepalm) I just figured out I’m dumb. I didn’t realize that my pen was auto-adjusting between MicroSiemens and MilliSiemens. So my water isn’t “682ec” it’s 0.682ec. Life makes sense again. lol
