Advanced Nutrient Line Up

You should give soil- less a try I think you would be very pleased with having full control of your feed

Soil-less is not for everyone. I despise growing in coco. I feel like a babysitter. Not that I would ever pay for kind soil but I would go farther that direction before going towards nuteless soil. The longer the charge the better for me. I usually go with a soil that has around a 35-45 day charge.

When your plants only get what u give them u have to b there to give them everything they need. There are very good soils that are formulated for our hobby specifically. The real chore is to do your homework and make sure u r choosing one that fits your growing style. If I did this as a profession that would b different.

A few great ones I’ve tried are vermifire, roots organics #4 or greenfields, and NFTG. I don’t really care for fox farms but many do. There’s even one that’s sold in Walmart and Dollar general called black and gold that works great for cannabis.

The biggest no-no is time release. Makes a flush impossible. So if u have a toxicity u can’t fix it. The problem only gets worse.

And for anyone who isn’t aware, Miracle grow is time released Bc they have publicly stated they DO NOT WANT THEIR PRODUCTS USED FOR GROWING MARIJUANA SO THEY MAKE IT BAD FOR GROWING IT.

I don’t mind fox farms for soil. You have to be careful with the nutes and using ocean forest. It is pretty strong and I always used the nutes at 1/4 strength. The reason AN told me to to ph balance the water was because my water hits in the high 8’s and 9’s @ around 10-15 ppm. ANY drop of ph down brings it down dramatically. Like I can put a toothpick dipped in botanicare’s ph down and mix it with 5 gallons and it will drop from 8 to 6.5. Really weird. And yes @justgrowin, I agree. Don’t use miracle grow products.

AN did this to me. Solid roots all the way through from top to bottom. Pushing off the lid. Drank 2.5 gallons a day.

Oh a video kinda:

Ro water is hard to read at such low ppm. Need some ions to be able to get a proper read

Did you know absolute pure water does not conduct electricity at all u can use it to cool a internet server , the first time I saw it I thought it was some hi tech solution nope just pure water pretty cool. But electricity needs salt to conduct thru water. So super pure water is hard to get a digital reading

That’s a good ph if you’re not in soil. In soil u want to b in the 6.3-6.8 range depending on the stage of grow u are in and what nutes u are trying to uptake.

One question from a beginner  :

I’ve just bought micro-grow-bloom. In the AN nutrient calculator it says that I should use the three of them right from week 1 in the growing phase until week 6 of the blooming phase, but in the bottles it says that micro and grow should be used on the growing phase and bloom on the blooming phase… Which one is correct?

Always use all three. I have been using that line for the past few grows. Always all three together. What is your grow medium?

I won’t discount that your nutrient line helped you but there are allot of factors that go into root growth, especially in hydro.

Making sure that water is always at an optimal level so that the upper root mass has consistent and equal opportunity to grow as big as the lower part of the root mass is a huge factor. I do a hybrid NFT technique in my DWC to insure that the upper root mass gets water even when the water level drops.

A well oxygenated water reservoir makes a huge difference too and even red spectrum light can contribute some.

I’m not knocking AN, I’m just saying you probably had more to do with that root growth as that plants grower than advanced nutrients had to do with it
